School of Dance

Classes for the Rozmai School of Dance are held Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral at 1175 Main Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The spacious auditorium is the perfect size for our dance practices. The school dance season starts in early September, and runs through to the end of April. Our annual concert is typically held in late April or early May at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre.

Creative Movement Classes

Rozmai's creative movement classes are 45 minutes in length and designed for beginning dancers aged 4 years and older. These classes serve as a fun introduction to Ukrainian Dance for young children.

School of Dance classes are 1 hour in length and designed for dancers aged 6-13 years old. These classes focus on Ukrainian dance steps from various regions in Ukraine as well as combinations, solos and choreography.

Junior Rozmai

Junior Rozmai practices for 1.5 hours each week and is designed for dancers aged 13+. Focus at this level is developing performance skills, solos, lifts, introduction to ballet and barre, partner work and many more exciting areas of Ukrainian Dance! Dancers in Junior Rozmai have the option to audition for the Rozmai Ukrainian Dance Company

How much do classes cost?

Registration fees are set by the Rozmai Board of Directors on an annual basis. Fees for the 2018-2019 season are as follows: Creative Movement class is $185 per child, School of Dance fees are $225.00 per child, Junior Rozmai fees are $275.00 per child. These fees include 30 rehearsals and any costume rentals.

How many dancers are in the classes?

Class sizes vary from 5-12 dancers per class, with two instructors and 1 or 2 assistant instructors per class. School of Dance and Junior Rozmai class sizes vary from year to year and are based on registration and the number of dancers moving up from the School of Dance and Junior Rozmai.

When are the classes?

Creative Movement Classes (45 Minutes) and School of Dance Classes (1 Hour) are held Wednesday evening between 5:15 PM and 9:00 PM. Junior Rozmai classes (1.5 Hours) are Tuesday evenings held between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
